The John Brown Hemp Company
THE THEORY
"Food For Your Skin"
Your skin is the largest organ of the body. It can be mistreated, misunderstood and overlooked. Treating it with natural products is the rage, but how do you actually know what you are putting on (and "into") your body? What can you actually TRUST anymore?
Let me introduce you to a different approach to personalized skincare through premium, small batch products that can have customized formulations or fragrances.
Each batch will be released with a video that discusses what it is designed for, usage recommendations and the like. How that useful? Suppose Sara and her sister's six sisters all have a genetic variation that makes them allergic to soy but want a fortified lotion that has CBD. I can make that. I know the fields that my beeswax and hemp/CBD come from. I'm importing fair trade unprocessed shea butter from Ghana. I know how to do these things because of my history.
THE STORY
"Food For Your Brain"
I am the 3rd great grandson of John Jack and Annie Brown. They were among the first settlers in the area outside of what would later be Fortville, Indiana. In 2003, I bought and 0perated a candle, soap & lotion company in Indianapolis to fulfill a creative passion and for the experience. One of the last things my grandmother said to me before she passed away the next year was that she was just hanging out long enough to see what I was going to be when I grew up. After she passed away, I inherited all of her family tree notes and after a few years, I sold my portion of the business, but continued working on my family tree over the next 15 years.
In 2019, while driving across the USA and tracing some "lost" branches of the family, I was given a long lost family momento - an old, leather bound bible/journal that had recipes for balms, liniments, lotions and more that were from John & Annie Brown - my corn & hemp-growing 3x great grandparents!! What were the chances that a person who enjoyed making lotions and lip balm would find out his family did the same thing five generations ago!?
While the world was burning down in 2020, I was perfecting the family recipes and bringing along new research and methods. Everything has a purpose in the formulations and is designed so that I don't need to sell them to WalMart or big stores. This is my way of "sticking it to the man" - blending my family history passion, social media, and great ingredients to make a quality product that I am proud of and is farm-to-skin safe.
